Operations Plant Manager

The Plant Manager will direct the efforts of all operations personnel to meet the safety requirements, customer quality and delivery requirements, and maintain operations aligned with Company objectives. This includes directing and initiating cost savings efforts and quality programs, implementing and maintaining capital assets, development of manufacturing budgets, and meeting stated financial objectives. The Plant Manager ensures that all safety practices are in compliance with OSHA and fulfills the legislative requirement for EH&S matters. Additionally, this individual will work cross-functionally with the management team to evaluate business strategies and develop and implement strategic plans. The Plant Manager will work to develop personnel and their leadership skills for key positions through delegation of responsibilities, motivation, and training. This individual will be responsible for sharing the company vision, as well as development and implementation of initiatives to achieve key objectives.
About the Role
As Plant Manager, you’re the backbone of your team. You will direct the efforts of all operations personnel at your plant in order to meet the safety requirements and customer quality and delivery requirements of your facility and its operation. Additionally, you’ll be tasked with maintaining operations across the board in alignment with Company objectives, including directing and initiating cost savings efforts and quality programs, implementing and maintaining capital assets, developing manufacturing budgets, and meeting stated financial objectives. If you’re well-versed in workplace safety, we definitely want you on our team: This role is also charged with ensuring that all safety practices are in compliance with OSHA regulations, as well as with fulfilling the legislative requirement for EH&S matters. You’ll need to be solid procedurally, as you’ll be working cross-functionally with the management team to evaluate business strategies and develop and implement strategic plans. But perhaps the most rewarding part of your multi-faceted job will be in developing the people on your team, as you will grow and develop their leadership skills for key positions through delegation of responsibilities, motivation, training, and sharing the company vision.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, management or engineering preferred
- Management experience 7+ years, manufacturing experience
- Experience in cold-formed fastener manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing, safety, and quality practices
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Effective budget management skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness of developing and managing teams.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities
- Prior experience with Six Sigma and Lean principles preferred
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel and Power Point
