The most widely accepted and used insert in the plastics industry today.
Ultrasert II brass inserts are designed for ultrasonic or heat installation into thermoplastics and structural foam materials. The external configuration features parallel diagonal knurls for optimum torque resistance and undercuts for superior tensile strength. A flange provides positive pressure to the molten plastic, assuring complete filling of the knurls and undercuts for high assembly strength. The tapered design allows for rapid and accurate positioning of the insert prior to installation.
Features and Benefits:
A unique internal locking element that locks the screw in place.
Prevailing torque action prevents screws from loosening under vibration. Also excellent in adjusting screw applications. The locking element is a modification to the internal thread profile and is reusable for many cycles, eliminating the need and expense for plastic pellets or patches, lock washers, or messy locking compounds. Insert dimensions and receiving hole sizes are the same as those for standard Ultrasert II long-length inserts.
