Ultraseal® Pipe Thread Inserts

Dodge Ultraseal

Ultraseal pipe thread inserts are designed to be installed after molding using either ultrasonics or heat. They provide the high-performance strength values of molded-in inserts while still retaining all the economical advantages of insert installation after molding.

The O-Ring is the key feature that provides the pressure-tight seal. It withstands a 600ºF installation temperature and will function at operating temperatures up to 400ºF. When installed into the recommended hole size it offers a high-performance seal between the plastic and the insert.

Assembly Strength Data
Ultraseal pipe thread inserts provide high tensile and torque loads in addition to their sealing features. The combination of diagonal knurls and undercut provides a unique anchoring arrangement.

Features and Benefits:

  • Inserts are designed with a taper to permit easy installation and self-alignment
  • Inserts are made of brass allowing continuous assembly and disassembly of mating parts without damaging threads
  • Diagonal knurls and fins profile are designed to exceed rotational tensile requirements
  • Inserts are manufactured in 1/8-27, 1/4-18, and 3/8-18 pipe thread configurations

In addition to the sealing capabilities the advantages of post molding will:

  • Reduce open press time
  • Eliminate scrapped parts or damaged molds from improperly placed inserts
  • Allow simpler and less costly molds
  • Increase production
